Loot is a tool for collective progress, not an end in itself. We prioritize mains over alts and trials, and distribute gear through a transparent system based on individual priority lists. The process is fast, fair, and free from drama.

That success is driven by a clear long-term vision and tried-and-tested infrastructure, complete with detailed raid assignments that set everyone up to succeed. Loot is allocated with a priority list system that is fast, fair and transparent. To support different playstyles and commitments, we will raid as one flex team at launch and later on feature two distinct raiding options: a high-ambition 20fix speedrun and a 20plus parse raid. With us, you get the stability of a seasoned guild and the opportunity to excel in your own way.

2. General information and legal bases

We process personal data only where necessary to provide this website, operate it securely, manage recruitment applications and communicate with applicants. The relevant legal bases are Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for steps taken at your request in connection with potential guild membership, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for secure and efficient operation and recruitment administration, and Article 6(1)(c) GDPR where processing is required by law.

Our legitimate interests include protecting the service against misuse, maintaining a reliable application process, coordinating the recruitment team and documenting decisions. Please do not include special-category or otherwise sensitive personal data in free-text answers unless it is genuinely necessary.

3. Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted on a server operated by WIIT AG, Joachim-Erwin-Platz 3, 40212 Düsseldorf, Germany, under the Webtropia brand. The server is located in Düsseldorf.

When the website is accessed, technically necessary connection data may be processed, particularly the IP address, access time and requested resource. This processing is required for secure and stable delivery and is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The application does not create its own permanent access logs. Technical error or security data is processed only where necessary for secure operation and removed when the purpose no longer applies.

4. Domain and TLS encryption

The domain is administered through IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. The TLS certificate is issued by Let's Encrypt. TLS encryption protects data transmitted between your browser and this website.

5. Discord sign-in

A Discord account is required to submit an application through the website. Membership of the Unbuffed Discord server is not required. During sign-in, Discord provides us with your stable Discord user ID, current display name and profile image. Short-lived security values are also used to protect the login process.

This connection prevents applicants from becoming unreachable because of misspelled or subsequently changed Discord names and enables communication through the Unbuffed bot. The legal bases are Article 6(1)(b) and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

6. Recruitment applications

You can apply through the website or through the Unbuffed Discord bot. We process the information you provide, including character name, class, role, gaming experience, availability, profile or log links, free-text answers and the source through which you found us. We also store the submission channel, submission time and your connected Discord identity.

Within the restricted recruitment area, authorised members of the recruitment team may view and search applications, assign responsibility, change the workflow status, vote, add comments and timeline entries, communicate with the applicant and record the outcome. These records may contain the Discord identities, names and profile images of the officers involved.

New applications are announced in a restricted Discord channel in compact form. The notification can include the character name, class, role, submission source and a link to the protected application. The full application is not published publicly.

7. Discord messages and role assignment

While an application is New or In progress, applicants and authorised officers can exchange direct messages through the Unbuffed Discord bot. The message content, sender, delivery state, timestamps and edit or deletion history are stored with the application. If an application is accepted, the bot may send the outcome, provide an invitation link and assign the configured Discord roles after the applicant joins the server. If an application is rejected or closed, further applicant messages are no longer forwarded.

8. Discord as an external service

For users in the European Economic Area, Discord services are provided by Discord Netherlands B.V., Schiphol Boulevard 195, 1118 BG Schiphol, Netherlands. Discord processes data under its own responsibility when you use Discord, authorise the Unbuffed application or exchange messages through Discord.

Discord may process data in the United States and other countries. Discord states that it uses mechanisms including European Commission standard contractual clauses and applicable adequacy decisions for international transfers. Further information is available in the Discord Privacy Policy.

9. Storage periods

A website application draft is stored locally in your browser until you submit or clear it. An unfinished Discord bot draft expires after 14 days. Applicant login sessions expire after 7 days and Staff sessions after 12 hours. Expired session records are removed automatically. Security fingerprints used to limit abusive submissions contain a one-way hash derived from the connection address and are removed after 24 hours.

Submitted applications are retained for the recruitment process. Six months after submission they are automatically removed from active views and moved to the administrative Trash. Moving an application to Trash is not permanent deletion. Trash records are retained only while needed for justified restoration, recruitment administration or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims and are then deleted permanently by an administrator. You may request earlier deletion unless continued storage is legally permitted or required.

10. Cookies and local storage

We use only technically necessary cookies for Discord authentication, login security and active sessions. OAuth security cookies expire after approximately 10 minutes, applicant sessions after 7 days and Staff sessions after 12 hours. Local storage is used for the application draft and the selected site design. You can remove locally stored information through the application reset function or your browser settings.

We do not use analytics services, advertising trackers, marketing cookies or browser identifiers for reach measurement.

11. Recipients

Personal data is accessible only to authorised recruitment personnel and administrators where required for their duties. Technical recipients can include WIIT AG/Webtropia for hosting, IONOS SE for domain services, and Discord for authentication, notifications, direct messages and role assignment. Data is not sold or disclosed for advertising purposes.

12. External links

This website contains links to external services, including Discord and Warcraft Logs. Data is transmitted to the relevant provider only when you open an external link. The external provider is responsible for processing on its website.

13. Your rights

Subject to the statutory requirements, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future.

To exercise your rights regarding data held by Unbuffed, contact contact@unbuffed.net. Rights concerning data held independently by Discord must also be exercised with Discord.
